Getting Started

What is DeliverNorth?

DeliverNorth is a complete delivery management platform that helps you run your delivery business. It includes dispatcher software, a mobile app for drivers, real-time tracking, proof of delivery, reporting tools, and everything else you need to manage deliveries professionally.

Whether you are starting a new delivery service or looking to replace spreadsheets and manual processes, DeliverNorth gives you enterprise-grade tools at an affordable price.

Who is DeliverNorth for?

DeliverNorth is perfect for:

  • Entrepreneurs starting a delivery business
  • Existing delivery companies looking for better software
  • Pharmacies and medical facilities managing their own deliveries
  • Restaurants, retailers, and businesses offering delivery services
  • Any organization that needs to manage and track deliveries professionally

How do I get started?

Getting started is simple:

  1. Create your free account - no credit card required
  2. Set up your company profile and add your drivers
  3. Download the driver mobile app (iOS or Android)
  4. Create your first delivery and start tracking

The entire setup takes less than 15 minutes. You only pay when you complete deliveries.

How is this so much cheaper than Onfleet or Routific?

They charge per vehicle whether you're busy or slow. We only charge when you complete deliveries. During your slow months, you pay less. During busy months, you still pay less than their flat fees.

No venture capital debt to pay off, no sales team commissions built into pricing. We keep it simple: $0.25 per delivery. That's it.

Here's the math: If you do 300 deliveries per month with 5 drivers:

  • DeliverNorth: $75/month ($0.25 × 300)
  • Onfleet: $550/month (10-driver minimum)
  • Routific: $245/month ($49 × 5 vehicles)
  • Circuit: $500/month ($100 × 5 vehicles)

You save between $170-$475 per month, or $2,040-$5,700 per year.

What if I only do 50 deliveries per month?

Then you pay $12.50 that month. Try getting Onfleet for $12.50.

Our pricing scales with your business, whether you're doing 50 or 5,000 deliveries monthly. No minimums, no contracts, no penalty for slow months. You only pay for what you use.

This makes DeliverNorth perfect for seasonal businesses, startups testing the market, or specialized delivery services with lower volumes but higher margins.

How hard is it to switch from my current system?

Most customers are fully migrated in under an hour.

The process is simple:

  1. Export your customer addresses from your old system (usually a CSV file)
  2. Import them to DeliverNorth using our upload tool
  3. Invite your drivers and have them download the mobile app
  4. Start dispatching deliveries

We have step-by-step guides for switching from Onfleet, Routific, and Circuit:

Your drivers will learn the app in one delivery - it's that intuitive. No need to run parallel systems or risk downtime. You can switch over a weekend and be fully operational Monday morning.

What if I need help or something breaks?

Email and chat support included at every pricing tier. Average response time under 2 hours during business hours (9am-5pm Eastern, Monday-Friday).

We're a small team, so you'll talk to people who actually built the software, not a Level 1 support script reader. We can actually fix issues instead of just creating tickets.

Emergency support available 24/7 for critical issues affecting active deliveries.

Can DeliverNorth handle growth?

Absolutely. Our largest customer runs 40 drivers and 6,000+ deliveries per month.

The system handles everything from solo operators to regional fleets. Add drivers instantly - no approval process, no tier upgrades, no sales calls to negotiate new contracts.

As you grow from 5 to 50 drivers, your per-delivery cost stays the same: $0.25. Unlike competitors who force you into "enterprise plans" at higher price points, we just charge for what you use.

The platform is built on AWS infrastructure that automatically scales to handle traffic spikes, busy seasons, and rapid growth.

Platform Features

Delivery Operations

What information do I need to create a delivery?

The minimum required information is:

  • Recipient name
  • Delivery address

Optional information you can include:

  • Phone number
  • Delivery instructions
  • Reference/tracking numbers
  • Package count and description
  • Delivery time window
  • Special handling requirements
  • Pickup location (if different from your main location)

What information is collected during delivery?

When a driver completes a delivery, they capture:

  • Name of person who received the package
  • Relationship to intended recipient (e.g., self, spouse, parent, caregiver)
  • Digital signature
  • Photo of delivered package (optional)
  • Government-issued ID information (when required for medical deliveries)
  • GPS coordinates
  • Timestamp
  • Delivery notes

All this information is immediately available in your dispatcher portal.

What happens if a delivery fails?

If a delivery cannot be completed, the driver records the reason:

  • No answer at the address
  • Recipient refused delivery
  • Incorrect address
  • Business/residence closed
  • Unable to locate address
  • Other reason with notes

Failed deliveries are flagged in your dispatcher portal so you can take appropriate action. You can reschedule the delivery or have it returned to your location.

Failed deliveries are not charged - you only pay for completed deliveries.

How does delivery scheduling work?

The platform supports flexible scheduling options:

  • On-demand - Create and dispatch deliveries immediately
  • Scheduled - Set specific pickup and delivery time windows
  • Route optimization - Group deliveries into efficient routes
  • Recurring schedules - Set up regular pickup times (e.g., twice daily, weekends)
  • Driver assignment - Manually assign or let drivers self-assign deliveries

You have full control over how you schedule and assign deliveries to fit your business model.

Can drivers collect payment on delivery?

Yes. The driver app can process payments at the time of delivery using:

  • Credit cards
  • Debit cards
  • Cash (with manual receipt entry)

Payment integration requires connecting your payment processor. The platform tracks collected payments and includes them in your reports.

Do you support temperature-controlled delivery?

Yes. The platform allows you to flag deliveries that require temperature control. You can:

  • Mark deliveries as requiring refrigeration or freezing
  • Add temperature monitoring notes
  • Provide special handling instructions to drivers
  • Document temperature conditions at delivery

This is particularly important for medical and pharmaceutical deliveries that require cold chain management.
